PF Operation points to $ 1 million loss for public coffers in fraud relating to the removal of the vehicle
The Federal Police launched Tuesday (9) the deviation of the route, which investigates the payment of the bribes to the Federal motorway police in Rio Grande do Sul. The action led to the arrest of a federal motorway police and two entrepreneurs responsible for a removal and deposit center accredited for Detrans.
According to the investigation, between August 2021 and August 2025, the people involved would omit the registration of over 1.3 thousand removals of vehicles, causing an estimated loss of 1 million dollars for public coffers due to the lack of collection of mandatory commissions. During this period, the amount paid in the bribes to encourage the regime is calculated by over $ 240 thousand.
The operation was supported by the Prf Corregedoria in Rio Grande do sul and by the general correctedia of Detrans. Nine research and seizure warrant were served in Porto Alegre, as well as the blockade of bank accounts related to the suspicions and kidnapping of four vehicles.
The orders of the Court, issued by the seventh Federal Court of Porto Alegre, also determined the removal of the traffic police officer by the Office and prohibited the entrepreneurs to conclude new contracts with Detrans.
The Federal Police continues to analyze documents and financial data seized to deepen the investigations on the extension of the regime.
