Eternal Beatle made not very friendly statements about the band of brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher – and all because it was provoked first – but situation has softened in recent years

Some personalities attended the show performed by Oasis at Rose Bowl, in Los Angeles, United States, last Saturday, 6. One was none other than Paul McCartneysinger and bassist of the greatest musical reference of the Gallagher brothers: Os Beatles.

A video posted on social networks shows that Macca really enjoyed the presentation of Liam and Noel. The eternal Beatle was caught enjoying music “Little by Little”originally released on the album HEATHEN CHEMISTRY (2002).

In another record (via Consequence), a paparazzo wanted to know Paul’s opinion about the show. Brief but enlightening, he replied:

“Fabulous!”

Over the years, Paul McCartney talked about Oasis several times. The comments were not always positive. And there was reason for that.

In 1996Noel Gallagher told MTV that the two Oasis initial albums, Definery Maybe (1994) and (What’s the story) Morning Glory? (1995) They made their band bigger than the Beatles.

Although the guitarist said in 2015 that he was under the effect of narcotics when he said that, McCartney didn’t like what he heard. To the newspaper Irish TimesIn 1997, Beatle defined the Gallaghers as “vulgar” and stated that they “think too much about themselves.” “They mean nothing to me,” he added.

Over the years, Oasis members began to be more careful in their interviews. Of course, Paul McCartney also relieved to their side. But in 2001, during an interview with the broadcaster Howard SternBeatle said he only started criticizing them because they were talking nonsense before.

“Everyone asks what I think of Oasis, since they sound as the Beatles. I got tired of this question. But I said, ‘They are ok, I wish good luck.’ They are young and the world is complicated, so I just wanted to help. But then they started talking badly about us, saying they are much better, so that upset me.” I just said they are vulgar. “

Later, in 2016, Paul spoke to the magazine Q About this unfortunate statement of Noel Gallagher only increased the frequency of comparisons with the Beatles.

“Oasis was young, had freshness and made good songs. I thought the biggest mistake they made was when they said, ‘Let’s be bigger than the Beatles.’ I thought, ‘So many people said that, but that turns out to be the kiss of the death of these people.’ Be bigger than the Beatles, but don’t say that.

Paul McCartney cheered for the Oasis meeting

A year earlier, in a question and answer session on your website (via Rolling Stone USA), McCartney pointed out that he would like to see the return of Oasis. The band ended their activities in 2009, amid fights between Liam and Noel.

“My advice for them? Just get together and make good songs. But they have to want to do that. Many people would like them to do that. They are really cool guys.” I don’t know if they will make up. It would be good because I think everyone likes brothers to like and make up. It’s a shame, because they are very good together. Like many brothers, they are crazy, but it would be good if they were together. ”

In the end, Paul’s desire came to fruition. Oasis is back and amid a meeting tour, which passes through Brazil in November. Tickets are exhausted.
