Lucas Ferreira’s negotiation and the arrival of a new sponsor at the uniform contributed to the club to close the accounts positively
Among the efforts to balance their finances and reduce total debt, Sao Paulo closed in August with a surplus of 4.2 million dollars accumulated during the year. The sale of the players was the fastest collection form, but other actions are also implemented to increase revenue by reducing the expense.
The main factor underlying the positive result was the sale of midfielder Lucas Ferreira in Shakhtar Donetsk, made official in August for 10 million euros (about 63 million dollars). With 80% of the player’s economic rights, Sao Paulo will have 8 million euros (about $ 50.5 million) and will still be able to receive a bonus of 2 million euros (about R $ 12 million) if the objectives are achieved.
During the half -year window, Tricolor also negotiated the midfielder Matheus Alves and advanced in the agreement to sell Henrique Carmo to CSKA, Russia.
In addition to sales, the club tries to increase revenues through the creation of new sponsorship shares in uniform, appreciation of the existing shares, containment of expenditure for other methods and decreasing extraordinary hours.
Even small, these initiatives have helped the club to avoid monthly negative results.
Football remains the major expenses of the club, which represent between 80% and 85% of the total expenses. However, it is also the main source of revenue, both for box office, transmission rights, prizes in direct elimination competitions or for performance in Brazilirão.
In marketing, the expansion of the uniform sponsorship shares has translated into the announcement of a new partner in August: the All Dream card stamps the front of the tricolor shirt, in an agreement of $ 15 million valid until December 2026.
