Serialized Fest arrives in Ibiza and reveals first guests

Santa Eulària des Riu hosts the festival from May 27 to 29. The first confirmations include Darko Perić (‘La casa de papel’) and Carlos Cuevas (‘Merlí’).

First it was Barcelona, then Madrid. The fever for the series conquered the great nuclei, ready for the great leap: to the water, ducks, that the first seriéfilo festival in Spain finally moves to the Balearic Islands. It will lay the first stone in Ibiza, in the town of Santa Eularia des Riu, from May 27 to 29. For three days, the island will host the premiere of national and international series, the first in our country, as well as talks by top-level guests and recording of live podcasts.

The first edition will follow the line of its peninsular sisters, held last fall, summoning luxury guests to their venues. The first two confirmed have been darko peric (Helsinki in ‘The paper house’) and Carlos Cuevas (‘merlí’). Cuevas will give a talk, interviewed by the cultural journalist Alba Rivera and by Inaki Mur, also an actor (‘El Sitio de Otto’), with whom Cuevas had worked in ‘Merlí’. On the other hand, Peric will attend as a star guest the live show of ‘La Ruina’, one of the most popular podcasts in Spain, presented by comedians Thomas Fuentes and Ignasi Taltavull.

The third activity confirmed within the Serielizados Fest of Santa Eulària has been a makeup workshop dedicated to ‘Euphoria’a series that has undoubtedly stood out in the outfits of its protagonists and whose techniques earned the HBO experts the Emmy for Best Makeup in 2020 (here the complete list of winners). We affirm, retouching the glitter of the eyelid, that few series have influenced the style of recent times as much as that of Sam Levinson.

We don’t get lost: the venues of Santa Eulària will be the Cultural Center of Jesus (CCdJ) and the Teatre Espanya. Although there are still many guests to be confirmed and although none of the premieres of the event have been made public, Serielizados Fest takes a step to Ibiza with the certainty of being an influential event. In its last edition, the festival brought together more than 230,000 spectators on the online platform (Filmin), which places the event as the second most watched online festival in the country. That, without counting the 6,500 people who attended the face-to-face sessions scheduled in Barcelona and Madrid.

Created by Betty Martinez Y Victor Hall, Serielizados Fest celebrates every year, since 2014, the vitality of the national and international series scene. Within the Festival, the Fiction Pilots Showcase is also usually held, to give visibility to young creators and bring their series and webseries closer to the audiovisual industry, but the Ibiza edition has not yet confirmed whether the event will include such a session. In any case, we look forward to one of the obligatory events of each year for seriéfilos of all kinds.
