Stellantis leaves the electric lens 100% by 2030 and focuses on profit and flexibility

According to Motor1, a new global plan will be presented in 2026 and provides for growth, simplification and profitability after failures with electricity

According to the information published by the Motor1 website, Stellantis will abandon the goal of becoming 100% electric by 2030. The official announcement will be made in the first quarter of 2026, but CEO Antonio Filosa has anticipated three priorities: company growth, simplification of the process and increased profitability.

End of the total electrification objective, a step back compared to Stellantide

Antonio Filosa’s speech at the autumn conference of Kepler Cheuvreux in 2025 marked a strategic turning point in Stellantide. As the engine said, the group leaves behind the ambition to become fully electric until 2030-a goal from the former CEO Carlos Tavares to adopt a more pragmatic approach.

Growth, simplification and profit

According to Filosa, the three priorities for Stellantis are clear in the future: expanding activities, simplifying internal processes and increasing profit margins. The executive stated that the company must be more flexible in technological terms, combining electric, hybrids and even combustion models.

Also so, recently launched the Fiat 500E Giorgio Armani Collectors Edition and has obtained an incentive agreement with the Italian government for Italian electric cars. The Fiat 500E of 23,900 euros (R $ 150,000) is on sale for only 9,950 euros (R $ 62,500).

Electric faults weighed on the decision

The commercial inability of some models has accelerated the change of strategy. The Fiat Electric 500, for example, has failed to enter Europe, considered expensive and has little autonomy. In the United States, the bet on an electric dodge did not bring the return, indicating that consumers are not yet ready for a total transition.

Tavares Quaria saves the planet, Filosa wants to save Stellantis

If Carlos Tavares designed to help save the planet from climatic disaster through electrification, Filosa focuses on the rescue of Stellantide. The new philosophy is less environmental and much more financial, with products suitable for regional needs and economic profitability.

What to wait in 2026

The full floor will be revealed in the first quarter of 2026. According to engine 1, the Stellantide is expected to have a diversified range of solutions, strengthening electric in the markets that absorb them well, but keeping hybrids and combustion in the regions in which the infrastructure is still limited.
