Among punishments, yellow flags, leadership exchanges and abandonments Jak Crawford has achieved the best and added another victory in F2 2025
The second Formula 2 race in Baku took place this Sunday (21), which was a real test of patience and skills. With a wet track and sections with Pozzanghere after the rain at dawn, the pilots faced adverse conditions that caused numerous flags and yellow twists and turns in the dispute.
Jak Crawford started from pole position, but in the first laps he was played by the leader of the Leonardo Fornaroli championship, who took on control and opened more than 2.5 seconds. In the meantime, Stenshone, leaving the seventh position, has obtained impressive performances by winning three places in just three laps.
The race, however, has been constantly interrupted. First of all, from a track of the track that required a yellow flag, then for the debris left on the track after the dispute between Durksen and Browning. The situation worsened when he declared the Hit 1 curve during the fifth lap, forcing one of the first stops.
The strategy started to obtain importance from the 7th lap, when most of the grid chose to change the tires. Fornaroli ended up complicating the pits and lost positions with Crawford and Gabriele Minì, who took the momentary leadership. The relative to return 8 brought even more emotion: Browning was hit, abandoning the race and triggering another yellow flag.
Minì and Crawford exchanged spectacular overtaking, but on road 10 the American resumes the front and does not lose it. Fornaroli, in turn, was involved in a new accident when he played Alexander Dunne and forced him out of the track. The case went into investigation and on 18 the Italian received a punishment of 10 seconds, compromising his race.
Dunne would still be a negative protagonist: after a braking error 24, it fell from the eighth to the 18th. Shortly after, he certainly abandoned, leaving his car in a dangerous area that extended the yellow flag to the final lap.
In the end, Crawford had to resist Durksen’s pressure on the decisive laps, but he kept his calm to cross the finish line first. Baku’s victory was the American Friday of the season, further consolidating his position as one of the best names in the championship.
