Tuesday Cremlin said that it allows the new nuclear beginning with the United States to expire next February to be risky for international safety.
In connection with the journalists, the Cremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that Russia should have adopted not specified measures if the United States did not agree with the proposal of President Vladimir Putin on Monday who both sides should join the borders of strategic nuctented nuctented weapons mobilized for another year.
The new beginning, the last nuclear agreement between the two countries, should expire on February 5 and Peskov said that it would be “practically impossible” negotiating a successor treatise before – therefore Putin’s suggestion to maintain its limits prescribed for nuclear garrette.
“Time … he is running out and we are really on the threshold of a situation in which we could remain without bilateral documents that regulate strategic strategic and safety, which, of course, are full of great dangers from a global perspective,” said Peskov.
According to him, Putin’s initiative was not discussed in advance with the President of the United States Donald Trump.
On Monday the White House said that Putin’s proposal seemed “very good” and Trump would approach her.
The maintenance of the limits of the treaty in force would allow both parties to avoid – or at least adhere – an expensive armament race which, according to nuclear experts, would probably occur if the new start fully exposed.
The two presidents could present it as a positive diplomatic result after months of telephone contacts and a summit in Alaska in August that have not managed to produce progress to end the Russian war in Ukraine.
Putin said on Monday that Russia would extend its observance of the limits of the treaty only if the Americans had done the same.
“If they are not satisfied on the other side, then, of course, measures will have to be taken,” said Peskov, without what measures to take Russia.
He said it is not clear when the next contact between Putin and Trump could occur. Russia and the United States have by far the largest nuclear arsenals in the world.
