First fiction feature film by director Marianna Brennand is inspired by the real stories of Marajó Island

What is the story?
Manas Narrates the story of Marcielle/Tielle, a 13 -year -old girl who lives on Marajó Island (PA) with her father, Marcílio, her mother, Danielle, and three brothers. Tielle worships the image of Claudinha, her older sister, who would have left the place after “getting a good man” on the ferries passing through the region.
As he matures, the young woman sees many of her idealizations and perceives herself in prison between two abusive environments. Concerned about her future and her younger sister, she decides to confront the violent gear that governs her family and the women around her.
The project came up when Marianna He became aware of cases of sexual exploitation of children in the Tajapuru River ferries, on Marajó Island (PA). After winning a script development announcement promoted by the National Film Agency (Ancine) in 2014, he began research for work, which included several trips to the region.
