Fifteen years after the second Opus and forty years after the first tron, fans can eventually find this cult science fiction world in theaters. Previous film directors – Stephen Lisberger I The First and Second Joseph Kosinsky – changed Joachim Rhining. The latter has already named several films for Disney with Espen Sandberg, including Pirates of the Caribbean: Salazar’s Revenge (2017) and Maleficent: The Power of Evil (2019).
In this new Opus Saga, Jeff Briggs depicts the emblem of Kevin Flynn, who is in the first two films. The actor is enriched with new faces, including Evan Peter, Greta Lee, Jodi Turner-Smith and Jared Leto.
This time, Tron Universe tells the story of an utterly sophisticated program called Ares, from the Digital World to the real world to fulfill the dangerous mission of the real world – the first meeting between mankind and the creature, equipped with artificial intelligence.
What did viewers think about this new part of the tron?
When separation, Tron: Ares acquires an average viewer evaluation with 3.4 to 5* to 201 ratings and 35 reviews.
Tron: Ares seduces his aesthetics …
After the first two parts, despite the fear of frustration, Tron fans seem to have won this new Opus. He welcomed his impressive artistic direction and respect for the original world, Tron: Ares, they say, a successful return to Saga’s cult world.
JUZ69007 (5/5): “This movie is my beautiful science fiction film: Picture in picturesque 3D is also nice. Not a boring moment. These 2 worlds around AI and progressing, or phenomenal progression, will make this film attractive. A dynamic, innovative image, as far as the eye sees. I recommend. “
Stravyboy 66 (5/5): ”My God, I was afraid of this continuation, the 2nd set the bar in such a high sense, visual and sound, but you have to admit that the script and issues were not memorable.
I may also say that it is directly, what a slice in the face.
The soundtrack is not as influential as the Daft Punk, but the atmosphere is very good, the scenario is much more interesting and my God, visually it is wow a few winks and a visual surprise that made me feel so well understood. Jared Leto does amazingly after his latest failure.“
Dark Spidey (5/5): “I have been waiting for this moment for 15 years! As a fan of the universe, it is obvious that I will be tron legacy for me and will stay my favorite… A film that still puts a lot of shakes, visually, the latest Hollywood performances and incredible soundtracks!
As for Tron Ares, I can’t say enough about what a good time I had, so just say “thank you”. Thank you for respecting his predecessors. Thank you for the still incredible visuals. Thank you for this soundtrack.
PS: Nostalgia is very present!“
Julien Daltin (4.5/5): “(…)The film is very beautiful, even if it indicates the first 2 minutes. Tron arès respects both the first films, both obvious and indirect nodes for the second. We find that Disney is ashamed of the second part, and today he respects the second part.“
From the Shawn777 Club from separation (4/5): “Of course, the film is in an easy state of nostalgia. And, of course, the scenario is not unusual. But as pure entertainment, it is good! Entertainment! “
… but will not be able to persuade his story
However, not all fans of Tron Universe are unanimous. For some of them, this new opus is unable to upgrade Saga and is prone to standardizing Disney brand blockbusters.
Cool_92 (3/5): “Very nice update turns out to be a very successful sensory, visual and audio experience. Lore deserved new exploitation in compliance with the technological innovations of the day. And it’s visually stunning. Truly, it deserves to be found on the big screen. It is superfluous to say that the script does not revolutionize anything and the film is clearly not emotional. After all, this film multiplies references and nodes in the first two ops. Music is not as good as the previous one (by Daft Punk), but it is effective. Greta Lee is excellent and Jared Leto performs the job in the Terminator program. It’s a pretty pleasant surprise.“
Garnierix (3/5): “The flood of technology (from Disney) is quite tiring, but how can you escape it, because the main character (Jared Leto) is a program that is therefore equipped with digital technology, while the programs and people come from one world to another, continue here and there; It should not be condemned (even the viewers who came for it).
Which is nice is music, really the best thing in this movie. The less enjoyable is the entertainment or movement of dialogues, even if in this tale, this or this program begins with the genius of Depeche Mode and Mozart, act like a psychologist, have feelings (or even admit “I don’t know”). He still does not have the emotion we are all looking for when watching the movie. Evan Peters (X-Men Quicksilver) plays well with Crazy Genius, Gillian Anderson (X-Files) playing well with his sad mother. Just a subject (aspiring for constant) and actress Greta Lee (who finds it) is barely suitable.. “

Jackpopopopot (2.5/5): “Return to the future of the 80’s. This new Opus has, as its powerful indicates its aesthetics and the soundtrack of nine -inch nails. In addition to these features, the rest is quite flat, especially actress and script. We feel a little or emotion. The action scenes, especially the scenes of persecution, lack the intensity. It is a shame that the project is not more successful.. “
Cinévore24 (2/5): “15 years after the heritage, the return of the “Tron” world, led by the “5 Pirates of the Caribbean Sea”. This time, the virtual world is the time to enter the real world. Part 3, which is formally and musically beautiful, but is obviously banal at the narrative level. Forgotten and tasteless new Disney product, as well as the exiled face of Jared Leto, who continues his career choice.“
LMC-3 (1/5): “Visually, the footage is so funny that it is almost impossible to set up a set, quarrels, or even costumes. The ability to read artificial nervousness was sacrificed. Even more disturbing: Despite the 15 years that is difficult to detect real technological or artistic advancement in visual effects. Where we can expect a qualitative jump, the impression is the status quo, as if the basic progress was not made in the decade and half.
The soundtrack, in turn, is an anecdotal and frankly uncomfortable and more often than not, it clearly undermines the pictures instead of their strengthening.
Even worse: the film’s heart relies on the introspection of Ares, its emotionality, and its existential doubts. Themes have already been seen a thousand times elsewhere, unjustified in the context of this story and which completely stops the rhythm. Outcome: Insipid questions for more than an hour around the character are even more unpleasant than Flynn Jr.. ”
Report
Despite the artistic direction and the deep respect of the original world, Tron: Ares divides the viewer. If some see this a successful and visually stunning return, others regret the scenario that is very ordinary and lack of emotion. Third Opus, which seduces its form but struggles to influence its substance.
Tron: Ares It is currently in theaters.
