Zombie Land Saga

Anime is a creative mix of comedy and criticism of the entertainment industry.

Onimusha

The story is set in a steampunk Japan ravaged by creatures known as Kabane, humans infected with a virus that transforms them into undead with iron-clad hearts. To survive, men live in fortresses connected by armored steam locomotives, the only ones capable of crossing territories dominated by monsters.

When one of these fortresses is invaded, the young engineer Ikoma decides to act and creates a weapon capable of piercing the hearts of the Kabane. However, during the attack, he becomes infected and transforms into a human-zombie hybrid: a Kabaneri. Determined to fight, Ikoma teams up with other survivors to face the threat.

The anime features animations from the Wit studio, the same as “Attack on Titan”, with which it shares several thematic and narrative points. For anyone who is a fan of Titan history, this is a great choice.

Ajin: demihuman

After a near-fatal car accident, Nagai Kei discovers that he is an Ajin, an immortal being with extreme regenerative abilities. Unlike traditional zombies, Ajin challenge the boundaries between life and death, arousing fear and hostility.

Considered dangerous, many are captured and used as guinea pigs by the government. Kei tries to stay away from the conflict, but ends up facing Satou, a rebellious Ajin bent on revenge.

The anime is a supernatural action thriller and has attracted attention for its use of CGI animation to create the dark atmosphere of the plot.

Sarazanmai

After accidentally breaking a Kappa statue, friends Kazuki, Toi and Enta are transformed into Kappa by Keppi, the prince of the Kappa Kingdom. To become human again, they will have to face the zombies created by the Otter Empire, an organization that manipulates human desires.

To defeat their enemies, the three will have to unite their souls and shout “Sarazanmai”, a power that reveals deep secrets and lays bare their most intimate truths.

Created by Kunihiko Ikuhara (director of “Revolutionary Girl Utena” and “Mawaru Penguindrum”), the anime combines surrealism, emotion and beautiful animation.
