Praia Clube must work to overcome Brasilia

Dentil/Praia Clube’s victorious debut in the 2025/2026 season of the women’s volleyball Super League. In Uberlândia, Monday evening (20/10), the Minas Gerais team beat Brasilia by 3 sets to 1, with partial scores of 25-23, 25-20, 21-25 and 25-21.

After the ups and downs in the Campeonato Mineiro and in the pre-season, Praia started today’s match badly. He was behind the scoreboard for almost the entire first set, with a low offensive performance and without giving free points to Brasilia. But the turning point came in the opening half, with a good performance from Adenízia.

The reversal suffered by the Brazilians had repercussions on the second set, with Praia leading 9-1. At this point the Portuguese Rui Moreira had already replaced Monique in place of the American Fingall. After a rebuke from Spencer Lee, Brasilia improved with Manu on the pitch, but the difference was too big to reverse.

The away team reacted better, with Duda being the safety ball and Lívia closing the net (there were six blocks). Praia loses offensive efficiency and bets on the return of Fingall and the entry of Caffrey, but the winger makes too many mistakes and gives way again to the Bulgarian Koleva.

With two blocks from Adenízia (seven in total) and an ace from Macris, Praia overturned the fourth set to seal the victory. In the dispute of the best scorers, 18 for Duda and 16 for Adenízia, who remained at VivaVôlei.
