The Pope laments the suffering of children in war zones

Leo XIV highlighted people who perform charitable gestures

Pope Leo XIV lamented this Sunday (26th) the suffering of children and elderly people living in conflict zones around the world.

The American pontiff also highlighted the work of people who continue to make charitable gestures and demonstrate closeness to the victims of wars.

“Our prayer for peace continues unceasingly. We make our own the suffering and hope of the children, mothers, fathers and elderly victims of war. From this sincere intercession arise many gestures of evangelical charity, of concrete closeness and solidarity. To all those who, daily, fulfill this commitment with confident perseverance, I repeat: blessed are the peacemakers” said the religious.

Robert Francis Prevost added that “the supreme rule in the Church is love.”

“No one is called to command; everyone is called to serve. No one imposes their ideas; we must all listen to each other. No one is excluded; we are all called to participate. No one has the whole truth; we must all seek it humbly and seek it together,” he declared.

At the same time, at least six children died and two were injured after a Russian attack in Kiev, Ukraine. According to city mayor Vitali Klitschko, debris thrown by several drones hit the second floor of a residential building, causing fires in several apartments.
