It seems that all roads to Hero Fine Tiffin lead him to Prime Video. The actor, who is most notably seen in the erotic saga, whose platform has bought the broadcast rights, is the headliner of First Love. Don’t be fooled by its title, which heralds a honeyed romantic comedy, we’re far from all that. The film directed by AJ Edwards is closer to the drama.
The action takes place between 2008 and 2010 and tells through the story of two couples how the subprime crisis affected the lives of millions of Americans. Between unemployment for some and loans for others, many people found themselves on the streets.
Diane Kruger and Jeffrey Donovan try to portray on the screen (not difficult…) the end of this American dream. He has to take a second job while he goes on interviews, to no avail. Their pair will be tested. On the other hand, Hero Fiennes Tiffin and Sydney Park (Pretty Little Liars) discover the thrill of first love and the difficulty of maintaining a relationship when everything around them is falling apart.
Note that First Love is a slow, contemplative film set to music, in the same style as Terrence Malick, with whom the director has collaborated in the past (A la marvel, Knight of Cups)…
