Over the seasons, Violet (Salome Benita) has established herself as a major character in Tomorrow Belongs to Us.
It must be said that life did not spare the young woman. Didier and Angelique Reynaud were kidnapped as children, and Violet returned to the set after several years of absence. A return that shook all his truths and changed his life forever. Because Violet is actually the daughter of Damien (Adrienne Robb) and Filipina Juilliard (Patricia Thibault).
From a fragile and suffering young girl, Violet over time became a strong, sunny and deeply attractive teenager. A trip that earned him the sympathy of the public.
If viewers were captivated by her journey, they also loved her beautiful love story with Jordan (Maxime Leloue). However, after a year of dating, the couple broke up.
Today, Violet tries to step aside and find some balance. If she makes mistakes, the young woman has grown especially close to her best friend Bastien (Nicolas Jacqueens). The two recently reached a new milestone in their relationship. This is enough to further clarify the line between love and friendship. But is a true love story possible between them?
Salome Benita, Violette’s interpreter, spoke to Allociné about her character’s future and what to expect in the next episodes of the TF1 daily soap opera.
Allocine: Going back to the beginning of your adventure, Tomorrow Belongs To Us, what did you like about playing Violet?
Salome Benita : It’s very funny because basically they were looking for a young woman who was coming back from Australia. And I lived for three and a half years in the United States before returning to France with roughly the same configuration. Well, obviously my parents didn’t kidnap me (laughs)! Violet is a bright, sparkling young girl, but also very sensitive. I saw a bit of myself in him and that’s what attracted me to the role. I also really liked the fact that he might have a personality disorder that happened when he arrived in the series.
Violet belongs to two of the most emblematic families of the series: the Juilliards and the Russians. What do you think is so attractive to the public about these families?
Russians are really a warm family. The atmosphere is especially attractive: it is love, humor and a lot of kindness. They are so cute, they all get along and support each other no matter what. I think that’s part of why the public likes them so much.
Juilliard is a bit of the opposite. This is paradoxical because they also have a family dimension: Filipina protects her children in the same way that Audrey could. But the Juilliards are more on the antagonist side: killing people, hiding secrets… a bit like the “bad guys”. We want to love them and we also want to hate them. I think that’s why they are quite popular.
Violet bounces back pretty quickly after her breakup with Jordan as she spends a night of love with Bastien. Are you surprised by this story?
To be honest, I was very surprised! I didn’t expect the writers to put them together. From the beginning, when Bastien came to the series, we didn’t really know what the relationship was going to be. But it’s true that after so many months of being best friends, living together under the same roof feels a little strange. I was very surprised by this choice. Looking back, I realize there are a number of reasons why it works. Bastien becomes Violet’s new support after Jordan. Their relationship is healthy, calm and above all based on true friendship. Suddenly there is something deeper between them.
Although Violet is convinced she made a mistake, this is clearly not the case with Bastien, who seems to have developed feelings for her. Do you think a true love story between Violetta and Bastien is possible? Can we hope they end up together or will they just stay friends?
At this stage, nothing has been decided in this direction. The authors have not yet made a decision. But yeah, I think there’s a world where that story can really exist because it can be so beautiful. Violet still needs time to get there. He has to sort himself out and spend everything he’s been through before he realizes that the little pearl may be right in front of him. If she manages to go down this path, something beautiful could indeed be born between them.
Marceau (David Mussett) is also interested in Violet. Fans are also hoping for a love story between the two characters. Will we see a rapprochement between them in the next episodes?
I think Violet is tired of guys who don’t really know what they want. Marceau is a player, he flirts without looking for anything serious. It was more ego. I think this story can come back to the surface in a fairly light way, but I’m not sure it can become a true love story.
Do you have any other projects outside of the series that you can tell us about?
Romane Park, who played the role of Lilu in the series, will shoot her first short film at the Nikon Film Festival, which is called blue ribbon. I will have a chance to play in it. Then I will be in a feature film by Paloma Reino, who played Luna in the TV series. It is planned to be filmed in 2026. Finally, there might be another Paloma short for the Nikon Film Festival.
