Cruz-Maltino is close to signing a 7-year contract with the American company and will have a uniform with the same technology as the Brazilian team
Vasco and Nike agree on the final details of the sports equipment supply contract. The expectation is that the bond, valid for seven years, will be signed next month. What is known is that Cruz-Maltino will be treated as a global club within the American company’s portfolio.
Just like the Brazilian team, Vasco will have uniforms produced with the latest Nike technologies. Additionally, Cruz-Maltino T-shirts will be sold in the company’s major stores around the world.
In recent months Nike has also met with retailers with the aim of presenting part of the layette that will be produced by the company, as well as understanding the distribution and logistics processes. In this way, a prototype of the t-shirt was shown, as well as the price that can be charged in stores.
The expectation is that Vasco will be able to collect around R$40 million per year with the new contract with Nike. This value can change depending on the amount of sales and sporting success.
Nike beat the competition from Puma, which also negotiated with Vasco. Kappa, who has a contract until the end of the year, sought a renewal, but the proposal did not come close to the value of the club’s negotiation with the American company.
