Globo will resume “Sai de Baixo” in honor of Claudia Jimenez

Globo will resume on Sunday (21/8) an episode of the comedy series “Sai de Baixo” in honor of the actress and comedian Claudia Jimenez, who died this Saturday (20/8) in Rio de Janeiro from heart failure. The show will air after “Fantastic”, the time it aired during its original production.

The announcement was made during “É de Casa” this Saturday. The episode that will be reprized has not been announced, but it should be one of the first humorous ones, as Claudia left at the very beginning of the attraction.

It will be the second time that Globo has programmed the comedy as a tribute. In September 2021, the station broadcast “Sai de Baixo” at the same time as the death of Luís Gustavo (1934-2021), the interpreter of Vavá.

The attraction was conceived by Daniel Filho and by Luís Gustavo himself, head of a dysfunctional family and manager of a building in Largo do Arouche, in the central region of São Paulo.

Claudia Jimenez played the foul-mouthed maid Edileuza, who took care of Vavá’s apartment and lived suffering from the excesses of Cassandra (Aracy Balabanian) and Caco Antibes (Miguel Falabella), but shared the jokes about the stupidity of his wife Magda (Marisa Orth) and he played a game of seduction with the caretaker Ribamar (Tom Cavalcanti). However, Claudia’s weight jokes have caused problems behind the scenes for her.

Dissatisfied with the prejudice she suffered from being fat and after arguing backstage with the writers, Claudia was fired from the attraction in her first year, when humor was at the peak of her popularity. “I think my big mistake was trying to change things that I didn’t agree with,” the artist said in 1997 after leaving her.

Miguel Falabella invited her to resume in the film adaptation of the show, titled “Sai de Baixo: O Filme”, but dropped out, after the 2019 film’s script, to remember everything that happened behind the scenes of the show.

Despite the problems with the writers, the actress maintained a good relationship with her colleagues in the production. In 2011, she participated in the soap opera “Aquele Beijo”, written by Falabella, and resumed collaboration with the series “Sexo e as Negas” in 2014. In addition, she starred alongside Marisa Orth in the soap opera “Haja Coração “. “In an interview with Gshow, the two reported on how their reunion happened on the small screen.

“This sequence moved me, because we had a great collaboration, you know? I really enjoyed doing this scene. I can already imagine Miguel [Falabella] looking and saying, ‘Look at the clowns!’. I am very happy, “said Jimenez.

Falabella was one of the first to pay homage to the artist this Saturday morning. “We are left with the desire and responsibility to keep alive the memory of your immense talent! I love you! Rest in peace”, he wrote on Instagram.
