Sam Raimi, director of Doctor Strange 2, compared the differences between the surprises of the Marvel sequel and Spider-Man: No Return Home
Sam Raimidirector of Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness (2022), explained why film starring Benedict Cumberbatch will surprise the audience in a different way than Spider-Man: No Return Home (2021). The filmmaker commented on the productions in an interview with fandango.
When asked about surprises and cameos from Doctor Strange 2compared to the third film of the Marvel starring Tom Holland, Raimi answered: “Spider man [Sem Volta para Casa] opened [a ideia de que] characters from the multiverse could visit our universe.”

“But this is the first time characters from our universe go to the multiverse and experience other universes. So it’s going to be a sequel, but this, [essa diferença]is one of the biggest draws,” added the director.
For Raimi, Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness stands out in presenting the characters in these new dimensions: “Finding other realities, as they rhyme with ours, or as they are completely opposites, variations of them. I think that’s where the interest of this film lies.”
After the success of Spider-Man: No Return Home, Cumberbatch admitted to empire what Doctor Strange 2 it will also be “big” like the neighbor’s feature: “It’s going to be an absolute riot. And in terms of ambition, we will succeed at the level of Spider man. Okay, here’s my bet,” said the actor.
