Tonight on TV: Contest to Catch Nanari Urgently!

Every day, AlloCiné recommends watching a movie (again) on TV. Tonight: Max Pekas’ last film.

First stage manager and then assistant director, Max Pekas began his filmmaking career in the 1960s by directing a dozen sensual thrillers. Quickly leading his own production company (Les Films du Griffon), he amused himself by mocking the censorship of the time, gradually specializing in soft erotic films. After a brief stint in pornographic films, Max Peckas switched to teen comedies, which were very successful.

Such is the case with his “Tropical Trilogy,” which began in 1983 with Les Branchés à Saint-Tropez, followed three years later by Deux enfoirés à Saint-Tropez, and ended in 1987 with On se calme et on boit frais à Saint-Tropez. , which turns out to be his last feature film.

If we keep the semblance of a satire on the conflict between generations, this last part is treated as much as the previous part, as a typical example of “Nanar”: low budget, cheeky humor, repetitive gags, naked girls, shot with connotations (here we recognize the host Luke Hammett, the former speaker (Noelle Noblecourt and former porn star Bridget LaHaye)… summer fun without the fuss.

We relax and have a cold drink in Saint-Tropez By Max Pekas Noëlle Noblecourt, Eric Reynaud, Brigitte Lahaie…
