After a few years without news, the new Planet of the Apes movie is back on track. The work would find its main actor and filming would be inevitable.
Planet of the Apes: Supremacy, the latest installment of the simian franchise, landed in our region 5 years ago. In December 2019, following Disney’s takeover of 20th Century Fox, the studio announced the start of a new installment in the saga. Even the director was chosen: Wes Ball, the author of Labyrinth.
“I won’t spoil the surprise, but I can say that Caesar’s legacy will live on”The filmmaker confided on Twitter in February 2020, referring to the hero of the last trilogy.
In doing so, he confirmed that his story is in line with the franchise that was started in 2011 by Rupert White and continued by Matt Reeves in The Confrontation and Supremacy.
Since then, the project has not had any news… until today. according to DeadlineOwen Teague has been chosen to star in this new feature film.

The 23-year-old American must interpret the primate to capture the performance to replace Andy Serkis, who slipped into the skin of Caesar.
The Florida native played Patrick Hockstetter in It 2 and Trick in Black Mirror Season 4 Episode 2. He could also be seen in the thriller I See You, which was released in 2020.
If all goes as planned, filming on Planet of the Apes should begin by the end of the year.
