Peter Jackson’s Lord of the Rings movies wouldn’t be as memorable without Howard Shore’s awe-inspiring compositions. So it made sense that Amazon tapped the famous composer to create the theme for its event series, The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power. The music that accompanies the series is created by Bear McCreary.
And now everything is available!
Amazon has released the entire soundtrack for the series, signed by McCree and featuring the opening theme from Shore. You can now listen to the soundtrack on all available streaming platforms, but here’s the Howard Shore theme for fun:
While the soundtrack is available on streaming services, Amazon Music subscribers have access to two exclusive tracks: find the light and the promised king.
Bear McCreary, best known for his work on Battlestar Galactica and The Walking Dead, spent a lot of time working on this monumental project: “JRR Tolkien’s thought-provoking novels and their film adaptations have had a profound influence on my imagination for most of my life.“, he said in a press release.I am honored to compose the music that will guide the audience through the major events of the Second Age of Middle-earth.“
The Rings of Power series will be available from September 2 on Prime Video with the first two episodes.
