At age 77, George Miller continues to amaze and push the boundaries of possibility. Seven years after the electric Mad Max: Fury Road, he returns with Three Thousand Years, a long-running project that took almost 20 years to see the light of day. For this film, the Australian filmmaker is surrounded by Tilda Swinton and Idris Elba.
He produces a fascinating work and portrays the human race through a journey of fairy tales and myths. The story follows Alithea (Tilda Swinton), a narratologist researcher on a trip to Istanbul. While walking in a Turkish market, he discovers a strange blue bottle.
Arriving at the hotel, he discovers that Genie (Idris Elba) is in the facility. To regain her freedom, she must grant three wishes, but Alithea, an expert in storytelling, knows that granted wishes are not in vain. To convince him, Genie tells him about his past, thousands of years ago.
