Although Une vie ou l’autre is a hit on Netflix, AlloCiné offers four other films in which we meet the stars of the Riverdale series.
One Life or Another (with Lili Reinhart)
What is it about? Newly graduated Natalie takes a pregnancy test. Then he sees his life split into two parallel realities and discovers what life and love have in store for him.
What we need to know: Lili Reinhart (Betty from Riverdale) is the producer and headliner of this romantic comedy with a plot reminiscent of Pile et Face (1998 with Gwyneth Paltrow). He answers to the brilliant Aisha sister we find after The Bold Type. Their friendly alchemy also graces the screen. David Korenswet, the new hen with the golden eggs from Netflix, and Ryan Murphy (Hollywood, The Politician) should make you cringe once again, as Danny Ramirez appears in Top Gun: Maverick. Une vie ou l’autre is directed by Vanuri Kahiu, to whom we owe the 2018 LGBT romance Rafiq.
Last Summer (with KJ Apa)
What is it about? Before entering college, Chicago high school teenagers struggle with their dreams, relationships, and identity during a tumultuous summer.
What we need to know: Last summer is aptly named and timed in this summer period. A light-hearted film that takes the usual place of teen films, between summer romances, self-discovery, adventure… a chance to discover KJ Appa in a completely different role (and without his red hair). Another big draw: Teen Wolf fans will be able to find their favorite Tyler Poesy there.
Lies and Betrayal (with Camila Mendes)
What is it about? After his death, an old man leaves his fortune to his new caretaker, who finds himself in a dark tale of deception and murder. In order to survive, he will have to question the motivations of everyone, including those around him.
What we need to know: Camila Mendes (Veronica) and Netflix, it’s a business that works. The young woman has already starred in the police drama Lies and Betrayals and the romcom The Perfect Date, where she answers to Noah Centineo. And his third collaboration with the platform will not be long in coming. It’s called If you avenge me and it also stars Maya Hawke. We look forward to seeing these two play against each other.
Unnoticeable (with Madeleine Petch)
What is it about? As he recovers from the attack that left him blind, the former violinist is suspicious of his new surroundings and their attitudes towards him.
What we need to know: Cheryl’s translator also changes register in Imperceptible (Sightless in VO), a psychological thriller adapted from a short film of the same name. The kind of movie that will throw your brain into a frenzy, to the rhythm of revelations and twists and turns. And if we’re too far from the big shutter island, the intention is there.
Deidra and Lenny rob a train (with Ashley Murray)
What is it about? Two teenage sisters start robbing trains after their mother ends up in jail.
What we need to know: Produced by Netflix, this feature film starring Ashley Murray (Josie) was screened at the 2017 Sundance Film Festival to mostly positive reviews. A dramatic comedy that does not lack originality and spice.
