The “Euphoria” series has lost one of its main members.

Actress Barbie Ferreira announced on Wednesday (8/24), in a Stories on her Instagram, that she will be leaving the series.

“After four years of playing the special and enigmatic character Kat, I have to say goodbye with tears in my eyes,” he wrote, illustrating the post with drawings by his co-star Hunter Schafer.

“I hope that many of you can see yourself in her as I have seen myself,” the post continues, “and that she has brought you joy, as you see her journey to become what she has become. I put all my care and attention into it. my love inside her and I hope you can feel it. I love you, Katherine Hernandez. “

Ferreira and “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson would clash during the production of the second season. The Daily Beast reported in February that the actress even left the set at some point, but the reasons were not disclosed. Some fans have also complained about Ferreira’s dwindling space in the series over the season.

According to the Daily Beast report, the US Actors Guild SAG-AFTRA on the series’ overly long shoot and lack of meal and bathroom breaks. In a statement at the time, HBO said “it is not uncommon for drama series to have complex shootings” and noted that “there have never been intensified formal requests.”
