Barbie Ferreira leaves the cast of “Euphoria”

Brazilian actress Barbie Ferreira announced this Wednesday (24) on her social networks that she will be leaving the cast of the HBO series “Euphoria”, with Zendaya.

“Euphoria” starts its third season, after the great success that the series has had in its second season, and Barbie Ferreira plays the young Katherine Hernandez, one of the protagonists of the plot.

In an Instagram Stories post, Ferreira announced his departure from “Euphoria”, stating that he will not be returning in Season 3. In her post, she posted an image of her that she believes was the first art a fan of her sent her of her character, Kat.

“After four years of playing Kat’s most special and enigmatic character, I have to say goodbye with tears in my eyes,” said the actress. “I hope many of you can see yourself in her as I have and that she has brought you joy to see her journey into the character she is today. I put all my affection and love into her and I hope you can feel it. I love you Katherine Hernandez, “concluded Barbie Ferreira.

Although she has not communicated the reason for her departure, there are rumors of tensions on the set of the second season between Barbie Ferreira and the creator of the series Sam Levinson. However, the actress came to disprove these rumors in March, in an interview with Insider.

Barbie Ferreira debuted as Kat, the best friend of Maddie (Alexa Demie) and Cassie (Sydney Sweeney) in the first season. The character’s journey has gone through issues like her own love for her as she tries to change her reputation at school. In the second season, Kat’s story begins to include a lie about a terminal illness.

The actress was born in the United States, in the state of New Jersey, but was raised by her Brazilian mother and grandmother and speaks Portuguese. “Euphoria” was renewed for a third season in February, but Barbie Ferreira will not be in the cast.
