Director Tim Story, director of “Fantastic Four” (2005) and “Tom & Jerry: The Movie” (2021), will produce the animated series “Clue”, based on the famous board game “Detective”.

“Clue” will be developed by comedian Dewayne Perkins (writer of “Brooklyn Nine-Nine”) and, according to an official statement, should “encapsulate the thrilling and suspenseful dynamics that have made” The Detective “a global sensation for more than seven. decades “.

The game was created in 1949 by Anthony E. Pratt and follows the introduction of whodunit detective stories. In the plot, a murder took place inside a mansion, and it is up to the players to find out in which room the crime was committed, with which weapon and by whom.

The story has already been freely adapted for cinema in the film “Murder by Death” (1976) and more directly in “The Seven Suspects” (1985).

Hasbro, the creator of the game, is a co-producer on the animated series, which doesn’t have a preview date yet.

The project will mark the reunion of Dewayne Perkins and Tim Story after working together on the horror comedy “The Blackening,” which Perkins wrote and directed by Story. The film will premiere at the Toronto Film Festival, but doesn’t have a release date yet.
