The record audience for “House of the Dragon” grew even more in the second installment of the series. On Sunday (8/29), the “Game of Thrones” prologue mobilized 10.2 million viewers across all platforms, according to a combination of internal data from Nielsen and HBO. That’s a 2% increase from the August 21st premiere of the series, which came in at just under 10 million.
HBO also claims that the first installment of the series has grown to nearly 25 million viewers across all platforms within a week of its premiere. This is the largest audience ever recorded for an inaugural episode of all of the channel’s debut series.
With this, “House of the Dragon” reaches numbers only seen on HBO at the time of “Game of Thrones”. The last three seasons of the previous series recorded an average of 25.7 million, 32.8 million and 44.2 million viewers across all platforms.
Faced with the performance, the pay channel quickly renewed “A Casa do Dragão” for its second season, even before the second episode aired.
