Ben Kingsley will return to the MCU in a new Disney + series

After a surprise return in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”, veteran actor Ben Kingsley will relive his role as Trevor Slattery in the new Disney + series “Wonder Man”, the character known in Brazil as Magnum.

Trevor Slattery, Ben Kingsley’s character, was first introduced to the MCU in “Iron Man 3.” One of the most controversial villains in the MCU, Slattery turned out to be just a failed actor who was hired to play a terrorist, the Mandarin. Recently, he reappeared in “Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings”.

The film introduced key characters for Marvel Studios’ Phase 4, involving Simu Liu’s Shang-Chi himself, and the real Mandarin, Sang-Chi’s father, Wenwu, as well as the mighty Ten Rings.

Now, Variety has revealed that Ben Kingsley will return to play Trevor Slattery in “Wonder Man”, the Magnum series. It is not yet known how large the participation of the veteran actor will be, but information indicates that Kingsley lives a leading role in the plot.

Simon Williams, the Wonder Man, is known in the comics for being an Avenger who is Scarlet Witch’s love interest. In the comics, Simon ends up becoming a Hollywood movie stuntman. With this detail and the series taking place in Hollywood, the participation of Kingsley, who plays a failed actor, makes a lot of sense.

With the return of the Ben Kingsley character, Marvel must explain what happened to him after “Shang-Chi”. Now we’ll have to wait and see what Marvel’s explanation will be and what kind of relationship Slattery will have with Simon Williams.
