After falling apart between Russia, Hawkins, and California in Stranger Things season 4, the group is more united than ever in the finale. Eleven (Millie Bobby Brown) and the others will have to put their hands up in Hawkins to face the upside that will invade the real world in the final season.
As of now, the fifth and final salvo of episodes promises a special battle between the group and the series’ big villain, Vecna. His translator Jamie Campbell Bower also promises that his revenge will be terrible.
Although the gang thinks they got rid of him in the Season 4 finale, Vecna is too powerful a villain to take down with a few bullets and a few flames. His body has not been found, and we suspect that the antagonist will return in Stranger Things season five.
And Jamie Campbell Bower teased in an interview NMEA hell of a killer comeback in Friday the 13th: “He’s going to be angry, really angry. I don’t think he’s going to kiss his wounds in his own corner. He’s going to fight back, he’s going to want revenge. They really pissed him off. Be like Jason Voorhees – they made a big mistake.”
The British actor also thinks that revenge is part of the essence of the character: “One of the things I always said to myself and wrote was, ‘Take it all from me, now it’s my turn to take it all.’
He stayed there alone for a long time, not talking to anyone, before Eleven sent him into the dungeon. But even though revenge plays a big part in his relationship, I think he’s still willing to take it and live a different life because it’s a part of him and he recognizes a lot of himself in it.”
Will Vecna get her revenge in Stranger Things season 5? And in the end he turns Eleven upside down? A young girl who always protected her friends could very well sacrifice herself to save humanity. His death would be a strong enough emotional shock for a series finale that should be memorable.
