The popular participation of rapper Megan Thee Stallion in “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes” had a responsible: the actress Jameela Jamil, interpreter of the villain Titania in the attraction.

Jamil invited the rapper, with whom he had previously worked on the reality show “Legendary”, after learning that the series would need “a famous, successful and beautiful woman”.

“I was getting ready to come and do this show when I was shooting the second season of ‘Legendary’, and I invited her and it turned out that she is a huge Marvel fan,” Jamil said in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. . “I had a feeling she was going to be a great actress because she’s good at everything she does and she absolutely rocked her.”

According to series creator Jessica Gao, Jamil’s suggestion was immediately accepted. “The moment she mentioned it, we said, ‘OK, that’s it, we’re done, there’s no one else. If you’re willing to do it, we’ll do whatever it takes to make it happen.'”

In the storyline, character Dennis Bukowski (Drew Matthews) believed he was dating the rapper when, in reality, he was being tricked by a shapeshifter. Not realizing he was dealing with someone with the ability to change shape, he spent thousands of dollars on gifts for his “girlfriend”. When the case went to trial, defended by Jennifer Walters (Tatiana Maslany), the real Megan Thee Stallion was impressed by her lawyer and decided to hire her as her legal representative.

Jamil also highlighted Megan Thee Stallion’s ability to awaken something in the protagonist Tatiana Maslany that no one had seen until then: “Tatiana has movements,” he joked, referring to the final scene of the episode, in which the character of Maslany and the rapper appear bouncy.

The scene in question wasn’t even in the script. As director Kat Coiro explained, Maslany is also a Stallion fan and was very excited about that participation. “We actually added that dance scene at the last minute to make some of his dreams come true.”

Gao also joked that “Tatiana thinks it’s the most important scene in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and I agree with her, it really is. It’s the most important scene in the entire MCU.”

The third episode of “She-Hulk: Defender of Heroes”, starring Megan Thee Stallion, was made available this Thursday (1/9) on Disney +.
