Joe Russo, director of Avengers: Endgame, explained why Marvel productions have comedy scenes

Joe Russodirector of Avengers: Endgame(2019), explained why productions by Marvel have comedy scenes. The filmmaker commented on the choice of the studio president Kevin Feige in an interview with deadline.

Russian revealed why Feige bets on comic scenes when directing the productions: “Well, the secret of Marvel is that Kevin you like movies to be fun, right? And entertainment usually involves humor.”

Kevin he’s very good at testing movies and I think he likes to sit in the test screening and see the response. So if the audience is laughing, it’s a way to hear that response from them,” continued the director of Captain America 2 – The Winter Soldier(2014).

Second Russianthis is a strategy to Feige to gauge how much the production is pleasing viewers: “You can understand, ‘Okay, every 2 minutes [eles] are having fun,’ and this is a strong way for him to gauge how the film will perform to audiences. So humor is very important to him.”

Grossing over $25.6 billion at the worldwide box office, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is one of the most successful franchises of all time. One of the defining aspects of the productions is the films’ sense of humor.

The feature, presented for the first time in Iron Man (2008) after an improvisation of Robert Downey Jr.gained strength with the comic scenes present in the films of the Avengers. Over time – and the popularity of the productions – the dash became a trademark of the studio.
