The Rings of Power on Prime Video: Recap of Episode 2, Where the Dwarf Does as He Wills

We finally discover the titles of the Rings of Power. Small grains of sand come together to create a psychedelic kaleidoscope image. We didn’t expect that.

We find Galadriel, all alone in the dark night and the vastness of the ocean. Then we find Nori on the edge of the crater, where the stranger fell. We thought he was naked as a worm, but he still has a small scar on his waist. (The modesty of American products). A sort of cosmic effect with loud choruses in the background occurs as he wakes up and makes contact with Nori. He passes, then nothing. (weird, did you say weird?)

Along with Poppy, they decide to rescue the poor man and carry him in a wheelbarrow, Tolkien’s version of a stretcher. While he is still in a dazed state, they are taken to safety and Nori begins a tirade about her mission to this stranger. A sequence of emotions.

In Tirharad, Bronwyn and Arondir see the damage to the village, which has been reduced to nothing and where the fire still rages. No body, no injuries. In one of the houses, they find a passage in the ground similar to that dug by a robber (Confusion des genres).

Arondir, still warlike and saddened by his feelings, sends Bronwyn to warn his men as he explores the tunnel. The two are quite melodramatic in the way they stare into each other’s eyes without saying anything. (But we’ve got a little shiver running down our spines)

Change of scenery: We discover Eregion, the realm of the elven smiths. Celebrimbor gives Elrond the hammer that forged the Silsalts. (Don’t expect me to explain what the Silsalts are, we haven’t the faintest idea, but it’s important). It’s not really a Thor hammer, but it has its effect.

If Celebrimbor takes a little pride in his work, he’s eager for more. Creating an object with real power. (We see you coming, Celebrimbor!) And he’s counting on Elrond to help him find it. He is making plans for a tower that may contain a more powerful forge than the others. A titanic undertaking that forces Elrond to look elsewhere for help.

From the region, we will leave for Khazad-Dum, the kingdom of dwarves. At the base of several almost unreal waterfalls, Celebrimbor and Elrond are planted in front of the mountain facade on which the palace gates are located. Not ordinary like residential. Elrond is proud of his friendship with Prince Durin, a dear and old friend, and expects a lavish reception. No! An elf is not welcome among dwarves.

Realizing that his mission will be more difficult than expected, Elrond resorts to an unlikely named ritual that opens the gate for him and sends Celebrimbor back to Eregion. Dwarves live inside mountains and waterfalls in an environment that would almost alarm the journalists of Elle Decoration.

Elrond was ushered into a great room full of dwarves. Prince Durin arrives and icily greets the one who claims to be his friend. The ritual of opening the doors is a test of dwarven endurance. We start imagining Iron Man, but while our imaginations run wild, Durin makes the rules. If Elrond is defeated, he will be banished from the dwarven realm forever. If he wins, he will get favor. And it looks like he’s not kidding Durin.

Principled? Break the big stones in a row. Only this. And so begins the trial, where Durin and Elrond must take turns to break the great stone to a collective roar. (Men and their challenges…)

Prince Durin, the head of a mule

We find Nori coming to see how the stranger is doing. The man’s reaction is the same when he tries to contact her: she screams and the elements break out. With his crazy hair and completely exhausted look, he looks like a scared beast that Nori needs to tame.

Obviously, it is difficult to communicate with a stranger. He does not speak and does not remember his name. Nori brings him to eat: snails. But instead of eating them à la bourguignonne, or cooked in garlic butter, he offers them raw. And the unknown devours everything, including the shell. (a kitchen nightmare!)

Nori’s parents are trying to set up a kind of tent in the village. The task is difficult and Nori is missing to help them. The stranger starts drawing on the floor, but Nori doesn’t hear anything. (neither do we). He seems to be trying to warn her of impending trouble, and at the same time, Norrie’s father twists his ankle badly. Coincidence or coincidence?

In the vastness of the ocean, Galadriel looks like she’s doing the Olympic swimming test. He stops when he hears a disturbing noise and pulls out his dagger. It’s actually a raft with a few poor souls on board. Galadriel swims to them for help. Among them there is one that allows him to drown. A wonderful charitable spirit. But the woman finally reached out.

He passes the interrogation and hides his pointy ears. But he is quickly unmasked. No time to discuss, sails appear on the horizon. A ship to save them or to finish off the pirates? no one. Worm! A giant thing that rushes right at them and promises to eat them alive. (We never cease to be amazed by Tolkien’s bestiary).

Galadriel is thrown into the water to serve as bait. (Charity always). But the error is centered on the boat. Only one man remains from the raft, Halbrand, who, despite his pointed ears, takes Galadriel on board.

In Khazad-Dûm, Durin and Elrond still compete in the “Who is the strongest and who can break the most stones?” contest. But in the face of the dwarf’s tenacity and rage, the elf ends up dethroned. Durin asks him to leave immediately and takes him outside. Escort time allows Durin to empty the bag. 20 years had passed since he had last seen Elrond, a blink of an eye for an elf but a lifetime for a dwarf. A small light shines in Elrond’s eyes as he finally understands his friend’s anger.

An emotional sequence follows a proper apology. Nice move from Elrond, who wins a break to personally correct his sister, Durin’s wife. Unlike the angry prince, she welcomes him with open arms and treats him to dinner. Durin continues to moan as he eats, but Dis’s diplomacy allows the two friends to reconnect. (We love it when the irritation stops).

Halbrand and Galadriel have trouble communicating on their hapless little steed. It’s almost like a remake of Pius’ Odyssey, as the tension between the two is palpable. But between the two pleasures, Halbrand confides that it was the orcs who drove him from his home. A magical word that immediately piques the interest of Galadriel, who expresses her sympathy. (I wonder if this tension will turn into a love affair…)

Another argument and Halbrand ends up spilling the beans. Their common enemy is in the southern countries. But before they can sail in one direction or another, they will have to face a storm headed straight for them.

Angel Galadriel to save poor Halbrand

Back in her village, Bronwyn warns the people at the hotel that the entire population of Hordern has disappeared. But strangely enough, no one listens to him… Meanwhile, his son Theo has a terrifying encounter at the family home. As for Arondir, he continues to crawl through the bowels of the underground and captures a creature that we can’t see but think is not very friendly…

Bronwyn returns home to find Theo completely terrified. One of the tunnels runs directly under his house. He does not have time to go for help and must immediately hide. Horror Movie Series An orc attacking Theo and his mother. The fight is fierce, but ends with Bronwyn leading the orcs to the tavern. And strangely everyone is silent there. He announces to go to the tower of the elves. Those who love him follow him!

Galadriel and Halbrand are in dire straits on their three wooden planks in the middle of a raging sea. As if in a bad joke, Galadriel falls into the water, but the brave Halbrand dives in to save her. Grand Bleu sequence with a little Irish music. Pulled from the water, Galadriel returns to the ship with her rescuer.

In the dark night, Nori and Poppy come to check on the foreigner. It blocks their lanterns that are flashing fireflies. Whether by a stroke of magic or the power of reason—we still haven’t found out who the gentleman is—he releases the fireflies from one of the lamps. He speaks to them in a local grunt and they form a constellation. He finally informs Booger. Norris understands that it is necessary to find these stars that he does not know. The stranger loses his mind and the fireflies die.

In Khazad-Dûm, Prince Durin speaks to his father, King Durin, at Elrond’s suggestion. The father is suspicious of the elf and opens a small chest containing a glowing object. But what’s next?!

At home, Theo pulls out the famous sword hilt that bears the mark of Sauron. After fighting the orcs, he gets cut in the hand, a drop of blood goes directly to the hilt, which comes to life and reseals on contact. His mother calls him to start the journey and they go to low music that heralds nothing good. And this time the whole village follows them.

On their ill-fated raft, Galadriel and Halbrand survived the storm and slept like two little angels side by side. Galadriel is awakened by a shadow leaning over her. The ship found them. But in the backlight it is impossible to see the face of a person who can be both a friend and an enemy…
