Game of Thrones has spoiled the ending of House of the Dragon!

Warning, spoilers. It is advisable to watch Game of Thrones before continuing reading this article.

The first spin-off of Game of Thrones, House of the Dragon is a prequel series that focuses on the Targaryen dynasty, more specifically on a part of their history: the beginning of its fall and the wars of succession that will lead to the infamous “dragon”. dance”.

House of Dragons has a heroine, Rhaenyra Targaryen (Milly Alcock, then Emma D’Arcy), a princess who wants to take her place on the Iron Throne. But he will have many obstacles coming from the yard. A true political series, House of the Dragon combines a family story with a power struggle.

Based on George AR Martin’s book Fire and Blood, House of the Dragon is eagerly awaited by readers who already know the records of this part of Targaryen history. Therefore, some fans already know the fate of various heroes.

But Game of Thrones fans also already know what Rhaenyra Targaryen will become after her ending is spoiled by Game of Thrones … Joffrey Baratheon (Jack Gleeson)! In the fourth episode of Season 3, titled “Here His Hour Is Ended,” the king passes through the tomb of the Great Sept, which also serves as the burial place of House Targaryen and House Baratheon.

He is accompanied by his bride Margaery (Natalie Dormer), which made it popular and tells the fate of certain figures in the history of Westeros, including Raenira! He explains it as follows: “Rhaenyra Targaryen was killed by her brother, or rather her dragon. He devoured her in front of her son. Her remains are in the crypt beneath our feet.”

And Joffrey is right. This is the fate of Rhaenyra Targaryen, who was killed by Sunfire (or Sunfyre), the dragon of Aegon II, her half-brother. This was introduced in the third episode of House of the Dragon: it is the first child of Alycent Hightower (Emily Carrey, then Olivia Cooke), the second wife of King Visser I (Paddy Considine).

Various wars of succession lead Aegon II and Rhaenyra to battle for the Iron Throne. And Aegon II commands his dragon to slay Rhaenyra in front of one of his sons – also named Aegon but not yet born in the series – at Dragonstone.

Ironically, it was Rhaenyra who saved her and gave her half-brother, Aegon II, the dragon egg containing the Sunfires at birth.

It will still take some time to achieve this result, even if the series includes time jumps. Aegon II is currently only two years old and Rhaenyra is still alive in the Dragon House as of this writing.
