Attendees at the test viewing of ‘Black Adam’ were surprised by none other than Dwayne Johnson.
Poised to debut in the DC Universe next month, as Shazam’s nemesis Black Adam, the boxer-turned-box-office-magnet, commented that he values opinions so much that he “always” sneaks into these special passes.
Documenting his appearance via Instagram yesterday (September 6), Johnson walked down the steps of the room to everyone’s surprise (leaving some literally in tears) to an avalanche of compliments.
“Success (and complexity) is in the details — and Uncle, I work hard on the details.” he wrote in the title of the video. “INCALCULABLE learning and lessons from the test viewing of ‘Black Adam’, which I always like to secretly participate in. I LOVE to surprise the audience at the end, when emotions are running high. I spend my time and really get hooked and learn from the #1 boss, the public.”
“‘BLACK ADAM’ is a project that I am passionate about and I am very grateful for these first impressions. Lots of work ahead” Johnson assured.
The ‘Hobbs and Shaw’ actor took the opportunity to announce the imminent premiere of a new trailer as well. And he wrote: “Pssst… the global release of our second ‘Black Adam’ trailer is this week…”
Last May, the producer of ‘Black Adam’, hiram garciawas talking about the long delay the film had suffered.
“I think we are in a world, right now, that is coming out of a huge and understandable “freeze” due to the impact of the pandemicwhich caused many productions to stop,” the producer said.
“Now that the industry is ready to kick back into gear, the queue for special effects is jammed,Garcia explained. “Obviously, all these superhero movies require a lot of editing, and we’re in a situation where most VFX companies are completely overwhelmed with work.”
‘Black Adam’ will be released in theaters on October 21.
