Inside Out 2: Disney announces the sequel to Pixar’s Hit

One of Pixar’s most acclaimed films, “Inside Out” will have a sequel, Disney announced on Friday during D23 Expo.

The plot of Inside Out 2 will include new emotions that spring within Riley, the girl we met in the first film, who this time will reach adolescence.

The film will be directed by Kelsey Mann and Amy Poehler will return as the voice of the character Alegria. Meg LeFauve, who co-wrote the original film, will write the script, alongside Pete Docter and Josh Cooley.

“Inside Out” was first presented in 2015 and imagined a world where people have five main emotions personified – Joy, Sadness, Fear, Anger and Disgust – that guide their thoughts and actions during their everyday life. The film focused on the emotions of Riley, a young woman struggling to adjust to her family’s move from Minnesota to San Francisco after Joy was removed from Riley’s mind control center.

The conflicts between Joy and Sadness are resolved at the end of the film, when Joy recognizes Riley’s need to live an emotionally complex life experience and the two emotions begin to work together, along with the others.

“Inside Out” was a critical and public success, won the 2016 Oscar for Best Animated Film and received a nomination for Best Original Screenplay. The film was also a box office success, grossing over $ 800 million globally.

Disney has announced “Inside Out 2” for 2024.
