Assassin’s Creed is getting a mobile game from Ubisoft and Netflix Games

Ubisoft announced this Saturday (10) a package with three different games to work in partnership with Netflix’s games division. The titles are all for smartphones and tablets, are under the brands Valiant Hearts, Mighty Quest and Assassin’s Creed, and will only arrive for players next year.

“We are very excited to be working with Ubisoft, a studio that has a repertoire of memorable worlds for its fans,” said Mike Verdu, vice president of games at Netflix. “The partnership will offer our subscribers exclusive content from some of the biggest game franchises, while expanding the catalog of mobile games for fans around the world.”

As excited as the executive is to work in partnership with the French developer, the two sides have revealed virtually no details about the games. We know that two of them already have a name and will be Valiant Hearts 2, Mighty Quest 2, while the third will take place within the Assassin’s Creed franchise.

Netflix already has mobile games

The development of the second Mighty Quest game should follow the roguelike style, while Valiant Hearts 2 exactly follows the story of the first. It is produced by the same team as the previous game and that definitely means gameplay very similar to that already introduced in Valiant Hearts: The Great War.

Currently Netflix already has a long catalog of games that anyone with an active subscription to the streaming service can access. The list of options includes simple and basic titles, moving on to others involving heavy names from the platform itself, such as Stranger Things.

Ubisoft also announced the development of a live-action series on Assassin’s Creed. The production is in the hands of Ubisoft Film & Television, with the watchful eyes of Netflix itself and is directed by Jeb Stuart, who became famous for being in the Vikings: Valhalla series, in addition to the films Die Hard and Brutal Damnation.
