Directed in the mid-1980s by John Hughes, the godfather of teen comedy, Ferris Bueller’s Day follows the adventures of a mischievous young high schooler who decides to call in sick to skip school and propose to his best friend Cameron, who has no morals. All time low, craziest day of his life!
Screenwriting trio John Hurwitz, Hayden Schlossberg, and Josh Held, co-creators of Cobra Kai (sequel to the Karate Kids trilogy), are indeed developing a spin-off sequel to the Hughes film; called Sam and Victor Day (Sam and Victor’s Crazy Day in French, Editor’s Note), the feature film follows the adventures of two framers who are entrusted by Ferris with the keys to Cameron’s father’s car.
At this point, it is not yet known which actors will be chosen for the main roles (Larry Jenkins, Victor’s original translator, died in 2019), as well as whether other characters will appear in the film – starting with Ferris Bueller himself. In this somewhat unexpected sequel. We also don’t know if the story will take place in the present day or closer to the first film.
Before the project ends, season five of Cobra Kai, the perfect sequel to the Karate Kids trilogy, is now available on Netflix!
