The director of “My Father” will make a series based on an award-winning work

Director Florian Zeller, responsible for the drama “My Father” (2020) and the new “The Son”, will write, direct and produce the series “The Lehman Trilogy”.

Based on a play written by Stefano Massini, “The Lehman Trilogy” will tell the story of one of the financial institutions responsible for the 2008 recession.

Massini’s play won five Tony Awards that year, including Best Comedy and Best Direction for a Play, for director Sam Mendes (“1917”).

In an official statement, Zeller said he was delighted to “help bring this epic story to life.”

“‘The Lehman Trilogy’ is a fascinating story about family and power that spans decades in an ever-changing US social and political landscape,” he said. “I couldn’t dream of a richer canvas to work on and I’m so grateful to everyone who made it a reality.”

The adaptation of “The Lehman Trilogy” does not yet have a filming schedule or release date set.

It is worth mentioning that Florian Zeller was a theater director and began his career in film by adapting his plays. His second film as director, “The Son”, based on the comedy of the same name, received a lot of applause when it was screened at the Venice Film Festival and is scheduled for release on November 11 in the United States.
