When the cast of Riverdale and Stranger Things meet on Netflix, it’s awesome if I get revenge

Available today on Netflix, Si tu me venges is an ode to coming-of-age films with a twist of black comedy sauce. Camila Mendes (Riverdale) and Maya Hawke (Stranger Things) star.

What is it about?

At a posh private school, a fallen high school queen makes a secret deal with a new student to get revenge on their enemies.

When a stranger meets… Lolila in spite of me

On paper, If You Revenge Me has all the ingredients of a déjà vu teen movie. Especially since this is the third collaboration between Camila Mendes and Netflix, and the result so far is above average. The actor switches things up with this black comedy flick where he answers Maya Hawke. Duet and crossover Netflix (one stars in Riverdale and the other in Stranger Things), which we’d imagine, but which works very well on screen.

Mendez follows Drea, a scholarship high school student who finds her life changed when her boyfriend uploads a nude video of her. When he crosses paths with Eleanor and learns that the latter wants revenge on a girl from his high school, the two teenagers agree to settle their scores. But nothing will go as planned…

Nord-Express’s free adaptation of Hitchcock’s Stranger, if you envy me, is also full of ’90s teen movie nods, from the decor to the wacky costumes to the Maya Hawke makeover, the Lolita way in spite of herself. Genre lovers will be served. What’s more, with this cameo—sure to surprise you—the quintessential star of the period.

Apart from the chemistry between our two protagonists, we also appreciated the twist that changes the cards and doesn’t make Situ me venges a predictable and ordinary movie. Hats off also to the rest of the cast – impeccable – consisting of Austin Abrams (Dash & Lily), Alicia Boy (13 Reasons Why), Rish Shah (Miss Marvel) or even Sophie Turner.
