The Californian band Sublime, which became famous in the 90s for the hit “Santeria”, will win a biopic. And the direction will be none other than Francis Lawrence, from the franchise “The Hunger Games”.
The screenplay was written by Chris Mundy (“Ozark”), but casting hasn’t started yet.
In addition to “Santeria”, Sublime scored hits “Doin ‘Time” and “What I Got”, and stood out as a favorite of skaters and surfers for mixing ska, punk, dub and hip-hop. At the peak of their success, however, lead singer, guitarist and lead songwriter Bradley Nowell died of an overdose.
His death occurred seven days after his wedding and shortly before the release of the group’s third and final album, which was also the most successful of all, with 6 million copies sold. All the hits mentioned in this text are taken from the 1996 album.
Remember below the five hits of the band.
