Destin La Saga Winx on Netflix: Is there a season 2 villain in the animated series?

Warning, spoilers. It is recommended that you watch Season 2 of Destiny: The Winx Saga before continuing reading this article.

From September 16, the fairies of Destiny: The Winx Saga return to Netflix. In season 2 of the popular live-action series, Bloom and her friends face great danger at Alfea, a fairy-tale boarding house in another world.

Before the Brules disappeared, the new Machiavellian enemies infiltrated the school, now run by Rosalind, who established a dictatorship there. When fairies start disappearing into the night, Bloom and her friends will do anything to stop them.

The big enemies of this second season are the blood wizards, in the original version, led by Sebastian (Eanna Hardwick). The latter used his connections and powers of manipulation and persuasion to carry out his plan, which was revenge on those who struck down Aster Dell.

Blood mages are people who use magic in unnatural ways, through sacrifice and death. So, Sebastian uses scrapers—terrible creatures—to absorb the fairies’ powers.

His goal is to retrieve the dragon flame that Bloom possesses in order to obtain a creature in the Shadow Realm called the Shadow that will allow the people of Aster Dale to be resurrected.

Fortunately, the fairies, with Beatrix’s sacrifice, manage to thwart Sebastian’s plans and kill him before he can do anything irreparable, even though opening a portal to the Shadow Realm could destroy another world. At least it happened forever.

The character of Sebastian, as he is in the Netflix series, does not exist in the Winx Club animated series. There is indeed a Sebastian in the Winx Club, but he is an art collector. The writers of Destiny: The Winx Saga were certainly inspired by the wizard Valtor to portray Sebastian.

Valtori is the iconic enemy of the Winx Club: he is a witch who is originally a demon (a gargoyle-like creature). Highly manipulative, Valtor often confronted Bloom, knowing that his original power comes from a fragment of dragon fire.

Among the other “blood wizards” we see in season two is the infiltrator Gray (Brandon Grace). The latter pretends to be Alfea’s student and approaches Aisha (Dear Mustafa). If he falls into his own trap and really falls in love with the young water fairy, he still remains an enemy.

Even if he poses no danger, Alfea’s authorities force him to return home to his family and never return. But the young man finds it difficult to leave Aisha, who is not far from forgiving him.

Like Sebastian, Gray doesn’t exist because he’s in the Winx Club animated series on Netflix. But the screenwriters were able to draw inspiration from the character Nabu, who is love interest Then Aisha’s fiance in the animated series.

It’s clear that Destiny: The Winx Saga takes a lot of liberties with the source material and goes in different directions with new characters that still take inspiration from the mythology of the Winx Club.
