This is where it all begins: “Mehdi and Hortense are in danger” – Marvin Pellegrino reveals

Alocine: This is where it all begins, soon to celebrate its two year anniversary, what is your best memory from filming.

Marvin Pellegrino: I’ve had quite a few moments. In particular, there was “The Last Challenge”, the ark centered on Mehdi’s illness. It was amazing and quite heavy. There was also a romantic meeting between Mehdi and Hortense. I loved playing it all. And then we connect very well with Catherine Davydzenka.

Mehdi was able to overcome leukemia. Can we hope he’s really out of trouble?

Unfortunately, as in real life, it can backfire. So far he is cured. Her chemotherapy has been working well so far. For writing purposes, maybe something will happen to him someday.

Mehdi is happy in love, but the arrival of Vicky (Lou Ladegaller) in Hortense’s life causes problems in their relationship. What awaits Mehdi and Hortense in the next episodes?

Hortense has a rather bad relationship with her sister and it lasted for many years. It is slightly beyond Mehdi. She doesn’t really understand what’s going on between the two sisters. Because he has a very vigilant, very nice side, he tries to integrate Vicki into the history of the school and his sister’s life. He tries to work things out, but it doesn’t go the right way.

Can we say that their relationship is in danger?

You could say their relationship is in jeopardy, yes. Mehdi is starting to get annoyed with this situation. Gradually we will find out who Vicky is. At the same time, Mehdi leaves for a while to work in a pastry shop for Teyssier. But will it be okay when he comes back? We don’t know that.

Mehdi realized his dream by creating his signature dessert. What is his next professional challenge?

I don’t know at all. Mehdi is intended for making confectionery. Maybe he becomes a double chef, I don’t know.

Zachary (Julian Aluguet) Will he return to the series and become Mehdi’s mentor during his final year at the Institute?

Mehdi’s mentor remains Teissier (Benjamin Barochet). Mehdi went to school for him, he wanted to be like me and make a signature dessert like him. The relationship with Zachary is not more developed than that. They continue to work together with a relationship of trust built between teacher and student.

Can we expect more scenes between Mehdi and Teyssier in the future?

I often ask the producer to put me on more scenes with him, and Benjamin Barochet asks me too, because things work well between us. We love to play together. There will be some small scenes and I hope there will be more in the future. It’s a beautiful relationship that means a lot to Mehdi. There is a kind of father-son relationship because of their common sin of baking.

What can you tell us about what’s next for your character in the next episodes?

Mehdi will have much more confidence after consulting at the Paris bakery. Therefore, Teissier will give him many more responsibilities and tasks. In the coming weeks, we’ll see Mehdi get a little closer to his dream of becoming a chef.

UA great conspiracy is taking place in the institute’s secret club. Will Mehdi be a part of it?

I don’t know if Mehdi will be a part of it at all. If she was there, I think it would annoy Hortense because Vicky would be there. I’m thinking of doing a little trip (laughs).

You could talk about a very powerful topic through your character and convey a positive message around the disease. Is there another subject you want to protect through mehndi?

There are still things to protect, but we have already protected quite a few through Mehdi. There was grossophobia, which was close to his heart. It was a bit of a gap because I can receive messages on networks. I get very few, maybe 1%, but sometimes I get messages from people who watch the series and are grossophobic themselves. When the episode aired, the rug should have been pulled out from under them. But yeah, there are obviously some things I want to protect a little more. If I do this job, it is mainly to protect this face.
