Marvel is currently fully fleshing out the future of mutants in the MCU and could adapt Joss Whedon’s comics into a movie.
In 2019, Disney regained the film rights to the X-Men by purchasing the studio 20th Century Fox. Fans then thought that mutants would be the first to be allowed to reboot.
However, in 2022, no X-Men movies are on the way yet. While Professor X (Patrick Stewart) made a brief appearance in Doctor Strange’s Multiverse of Madness, other mutants have yet to find a home for ideas in feature films.
According to the website Screen geeksMarvel is currently looking for a new X-Men movie based on the 4 comic book series started by Joss Whedon. The Amazing X-Men.
It started in 2004 and stopped in 2008 New X-Men by Grant Morrison and features four distinct story arcs: Talented, Dangerous, Torn, and Unstoppable.

In these comics, mutants must stop an alien race from destroying the Earth. The most famous X-Men left the team after a conflict with Professor X. Thus, these comics feature a new team of mutants consisting of Emma Frost, Cyclops, Shadow Cat, Wolverine, Beast, and Colossus.
Thus, the adaptation of this comic series will give new life to this saga, which already consists of a dozen feature films.
Joss Whedon previously collaborated with Marvel on Avengers (2012) and Avengers: Age of Ultron in 2015, but the director has been at the center of several controversies since then, so a return to directing is unlikely.
While the new X-Men movie is currently only in the discussion stage, recent hints of mutants in Marvel’s works Doctor Strange 2, Mrs. Marvel, Falcon and the Winter Soldier and She-Hulk confirm that the studio is actively working on a new iteration.
The New Mutants may be featured in the third installment of the Deadpool adventure, written by Rhett Reese, Ryan Reynolds and directed by Sean Levy.
