Woody Allen is currently in Paris to shoot his next feature film. Variety recently revealed that Valerie Lemercier and Niels Schneider have joined the cast of the thriller.
Eleven years after Midnight in Paris, the American director returned to the French capital to shoot his 50th feature, the thriller Match Point.
variety reveals that Valerie Lemercier, César for Best Actress for Aline 2022 and Nils Schneider will be in the cast of this “poisonous romantic thriller”.
They will therefore join the list of French actresses who have already filmed under the director’s direction: Marion Cotillard, Léa Seydoux, Carla Brun, Gad Elmale, Audrey Fleuro (Minuit à Paris) and most recently Louis Garrel (Rifkin Festival).
The $10 million budget feature film, shot entirely in French, will begin production next month.

Woody Allen, 86, also confirmed earlier this week his intention to make one last film and stop at a Spanish newspaper. La Vanguardia.
However, the filmmaker’s agent quickly denied the information in a press release: “Woody Allen never said he was retiring (…) He said he didn’t want to make movies that go directly to streaming platforms. This is not pleasant for him, because Woody Allen is a big fan of the cinematic experience.
For now, he has no plans to retire and is very happy to be in Paris to shoot his new film (…).”
