Nine Romney Schneider films worn on Netflix are available. Opportunity to quickly (rediscover) the Eternal Love Triangle “César et Rosalie”, which sees the actor respond to Yves Montana and Three Fries.
The legendary Rome Schneider is in the spotlight this 2022. The first exhibition is at the Cinémathèque française, which runs until July 31, but also on Netflix. The streaming platform is truly dedicated to a collection of cult actors with at least nine feature films.
Among these classics to watch and discuss on Netflix, we find especially Cesar and Rosalie, one of Romney Schneider’s five collaborators with film director Claude Southe. Eternal Love Triangle, where the actor in one of the most beautiful roles meets Yves Montana and Three Fries.
Cesar and Rosalie is a story about a love trio and a beginning friendship. Cesar (Yves Montagne) loves Rosalie (Romy Schneider). Cesar is calm in the community, full of spirit and runs a company of scrap dealers. Rosalie, who has stayed very close to her family, shares her life with Cesar. There is also David (Sam Frey), an artist who was once a favorite at Rosalie’s heart. Two men who fight over the same woman will finally become friends …
Two years after Les Choses de la vie (also available on Netflix), Claude Soute is reuniting with Rom Schneider to once again explore the couple’s secrets. And as always, the filmmaker turns out to be an amazing observer of everyday life.
Along with Cesar and Rosalie, Sute reflects on the complexity of human relationships like never before, preferring eye games to dramatic moments, oscillations between sadness and lightness instead of long speeches. Jean-Loup Dabadie’s dialogues finally convey the incredible accuracy of tone in a film that is very much like life. Shocking.
Clearly, the success of the lively and melancholy Cesar and Rosalie would have been nothing without his lavish actors. Romi Schneider, Yves Montand, and Sam Frey brilliantly portray human characters, with their qualities and flaws that speak to us. A special mention is made of the distinguished actress, here at the height of her beauty, whose sensuous interpretation of Rosalie torn between two men emphasizes the souls indelibly.
