It was obvious Wednesday Addams debuted on Netflix one…Wednesday. Exactly on November 23. The platform has finally revealed the date of this highly anticipated program. Many rumors have announced a release in time for Halloween, but the streaming giant seems to want to offer a boulevard to this prestigious production.
Behind this series we meet director Tim Burton, who here signs his first project after Dumbo for Disney. With Wednesday, he is collaborating with a streaming platform for the first time and directing on the small screen – he directed 4 of the 8 episodes. Wednesday follows the adventures of the Addams family’s sickly and unkind little girl.
It’s Jenna Ortega – who appeared in the new Scream – who slips into the shoes of the world’s most pessimistic teenager. The series will also feature Christina Ricci, who played the character twice in the movie.
Along with Jenna Ortega, we meet Oscar-winning actress Catherine Zeta-Jones as Morticia, the mother, and Luis Guzmán as Gomez, the father. Gwendoline Christie (Game of Thrones, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) is also part of the cast.
Along with the date, Netflix also released a new poster:
