Netflix has released a behind-the-scenes video of “El Elegido”, which despite the Spanish title is not a Latin production. It is an adaptation of “American Jesus”, comics by Mark Millar and Peter Gross. Revealed on Tudum, the preview shows Millar himself explaining the plot, as well as revealing scenes from the production and highlighting the participation of actors Dianna Agron (Quinn from “Glee”) and Tenoch Huerta (Namor from “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever” ) “).
The series is about a 12-year-old boy who believes he is the reincarnation of Jesus Christ. As the creator of Christianity, he has supernatural powers and a destiny established from birth. But that also puts his life at risk, which causes his mother to flee with him to Mexico.
Although the religious leaders of the place where he ends up try to get him to use his powers to save humanity, all the teenager wants is to impress the girl who has won his heart and confront the bullies who are bothering him. But he accepts his fate … until he discovers the truth about his identity.
The production is led by brothers Leopold and Everardo Gout (“The Purge: The Frontier”) and there is no premiere date yet.
