House of the Dragon on OCS: Olivia Cooke (Alicenti) was nervous on her first day of filming

After House of the Dragon Episode 6, it’s Olivia Cooke who portrays the character of Alycent Hightower, Rhaenyra Targaryen’s former best friend. She took over the role from Emily Carey, who played her in the first five episodes.

Invited to Jimmy Kimmel’s set, on the show “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, to explain the time jump made in the series and, therefore, this change of performers, Olivia Cooke gave herself some confidence, at least a little surprising. The latter admitted that he was not ready for the first day of filming. He explained to the host that he started the day with pain and a broken tooth:

I had a hellish emptiness. It’s really bad. Very bad.

The reason for this intoxication? The actress says she appeared on Alan Carr’s “Life’s a Beach” podcast where they had one glass of wine too many. “I never do, but there’s this comedian in England that I love, Alan Carr, and he has a podcast. He invited me to participate and I was very excited“, he explains.

And my call to the set wasn’t until 11 o’clock the next day, so I brought a bottle of wine just to get me going. The podcast ended and we just talked, talked.“Then he says more and more wine began to flow.”He tells me a lot of gossip. More wine, more wine, more wine. I don’t remember going home“, he says.

I remember lowering my head to do the tail, I fell.He continues:The next day I woke up and had a broken tooth. A bit of a chip, but I felt it under my tongue. And you say to yourself: “What have I done?”. No one on the set heard…until now.

An unconventional introduction for the 28-year-old actor, who rose to fame in the Bates Motel series and then on a larger scale in Steven Spielberg’s Ready Player One.

Dragon House is available on OCS.
