The actor, who started on the show at the age of 14, recalls questioning himself and wondering why he was the least favorite on the show and why he had fewer followers on his networks than his co-stars.
Caleb McLaughlin then spoke to his parents, who told him the “sad truth”: “My parents must have said, ‘It’s the sad truth, but because you’re the black kid on the show.’ Because I was born with this beautiful chocolate skin, I wasn’t loved.”
But Lucas’ translator is not bothered by this hatred. Above all, he wants to spread “positivity and love” through his platform. And finally with the best answer: “I don’t give hate back to the people who give it to me.”
