Yesterday at the cinema “Karo 11 October” a special screening of Anton Megerdichev’s film “The Heart of Parma” based on the bestseller of the same name by Alexei Ivanov, which will be released on October 6, took place. One of the main roles in it was played by Sergei Puskepalis, who died as a result of an accident on September 20.

The film was presented by a film crew headed by the director – producers Daria Lavrova, Igor Tolstunov and Anton Zlatopolsky, actors Elena Erbakova, Elena Panova, Fyodor Bondarchuk, Alexander Gorbatov, Islam Zafesov, Vladimir Lyubimtsev, Vladimir Svirsky and others. They honored the memory of Puskepalis with a minute of silence, and then showed a commemorative video about the actor on the big screen.

We were all shocked by an unexpected tragic loss: our friend and comrade Sergey Puskepalis died in a car accident, – said one of the producers. “This is an irreparable loss. Sergey Puskepalis was not only a great Russian actor and director, whose outstanding talent won the love and admiration of millions of viewers. He became a truly folk hero, he was considered “their” because he did not play, but lived on the screen, remaining what he was – a warrior of goodness and light, a powerful, surprisingly whole and courageous person, irresistibly charming and friendly. And in our film, the hero Poljud is a living reflection of Sergei himself, who has become for us a real comrade-in-arms and friend, a reliable shoulder and a wise adviser. We grieve and believe – he will forever remain with us, both in life and on the screen.

Thank you for taking the time to watch a movie in our difficult reality,” director Anton Megerdichev thanked the audience. – This screening is tragic for us, because we lost our friend, a talented person, without whom this film would not exist… The picture was conceived at a completely different time, now the country has changed, and the audience has changed. We continue to change so rapidly that no film industry can keep up with these changes. And we would really like to know how this film sounds now, it is important for us to know your opinion.

Recall that Sergey Puskepalis is known for his roles in the films “Metro”, “New Christmas Trees”, “Battle for Sevastopol” and many others. For his work in the film “How I Spent This Summer”, the actor received the Silver Bear of the Berlin Film Festival in the nomination “Best Actor”. In the near future, in addition to “The Heart of Parma”, several more films with Sergey’s participation are to be released – “Doctor X and His Children” and the TV series “Partners” and “Trader”.
