The exorcism of my best friend Makes fun of exorcism movie clichés, like jets of vomit or demonic voices, to better convey them. This shift in tone is of course a credit to the original novel, but also to Christopher Landon, director of the hilarious Freaky and Happy Birthdead, who co-wrote the screenplay.
Elsie Fisher – who recently appeared in The Texas Chainsaw Massacre on Netflix – and Amy Miller, the film is a nice surprise to open the Halloween movie season.
